Search forms send the name, phone number, or address entered to the outside provider that supplies results. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of those searches. A message sent to us contains only what the sender chooses to provide, and we use it to answer that message.

Standard hosting logs may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and time of access. We review this information in aggregate to maintain the site and learn which resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and advertising measurement when used.
How Information Is Used
Limited visitor data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic measurement, and page improvements. We neither sell a visitor list nor create profiles of individual readers.
Privacy on Linked Services
Links lead to government portals, Sonoma County and California offices, library collections, and outside search services. Their privacy terms control information submitted on their pages. Sponsored results are also supplied by an outside company and operate under that provider's rules.
Parties That May Process Data
Hosting and support vendors process server logs for us. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. We may disclose data when valid legal process requires it, but do not otherwise distribute visitor information.
Data Security and Retention
An encrypted connection serves the site, and logs are kept only as long as needed for the stated purposes. Since there are no user accounts, Petaluma People Search holds no visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
The service is meant for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if a minor submitted personal data so it can be removed.
Your Privacy Choices
Applicable California privacy law may provide rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held by a website. We can check our contact mailbox and server logs for a request sent through the Contact page. The California Public Records Act, Government Code division 10, title 1, sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, governs public records held by California agencies rather than visitor data held by a private website. Petaluma, Sonoma County, and California agency records remain outside our control, so correction or removal requests must go to the custodian.
